Meet Brenda Oliver!

Brenda Oliver

Brenda was born and raised in a farming community south of Regina, and although she has lived in many different places throughout Canada, Regina has always been home.

Brenda’s life is kept busy with her two daughters and two grandsons, who also live in Regina – only a few blocks away from their loving and supportive mother and grandmother.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has not stopped me from connecting with my family and my children. We love to follow each other on Snapchat, and I keep connected with my five siblings via Zoom.”

For over 14 years, Brenda has been a vital staff member of the U of R’s University Advancement & Communications team. She transitioned to Annual Giving in 2019 where she continues to pursue her love of sharing stories about students and how the generosity of donors has impacted their academic lives.

“I'm proud to be a part of our University family who, like me, believes in our students and does whatever it can to ensure students have a quality experience that will help them to meet their goals in life,” she said.

“The U of R has so many funds that donors can choose to support and really have a say in how their gift is used. I think this is important. In the Spring of 2019, the focus of our appeal was to raise funds for an Accessibility and Inclusion Award. Since then, I have personally chosen to support this fund as I have firsthand knowledge about the challenges facing students who require accommodations to achieve their goals.”
